Spiceworld
Released on 1 November 1997, Spiceworld is the Spice Girls’ second studio album and a sparkling continuation of the Girl Power phenomenon that took the world by storm. Packed with infectious dance-pop anthems, catchy melodies and the unmistakable personalities of Melanie B, Melanie C, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham, the album kept Spicemania alive and stronger than ever.
Featuring the hit singles “Spice Up Your Life,” “Too Much,” “Stop” and “Viva Forever,” Spiceworld showcased the group’s versatility, moving from energetic party tracks to heartfelt ballads. The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and topped the charts in 13 countries, eventually selling over 14 million copies worldwide and becoming one of the best-selling albums by a girl group.
To bring the Spiceworld era to life, the girls embarked on their first headline concert tour in 1998, performing across Europe and North America. The album also became a special chapter in Spice Girls history, as it was their last studio album featuring Geri Halliwell before her departure during the tour in May 1998.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2022, Spiceworld returned in an expanded edition titled Spiceworld25, giving fans even more reasons to revisit this unforgettable era. From its colourful pop sound to its larger-than-life Girl Power spirit, Spiceworld remains a defining moment in ’90s pop history.
