Spiceworld Tour
The Spiceworld Tour was the Spice Girls’ first concert tour, bringing the unstoppable energy of Spice (1996) and Spiceworld (1997) to fans around the world. Also known as Spice Girls in Concert and the Girl Power Tour ’98, the tour ran from February to September 1998, taking the five-piece pop phenomenon across Europe, North America and the United Kingdom.
Performing to an estimated 2.1 million fans across 97 shows, the Spice Girls delivered a spectacular live experience filled with their biggest hits, colourful costumes and the unmistakable Girl Power spirit. The sold-out North American leg alone played to more than 720,000 fans and grossed approximately $60 million. Back home in the UK, the group performed a series of arena and stadium shows, including two memorable nights at Wembley Stadium.
The tour reached its grand finale at Wembley Stadium in September 1998. The concert was broadcast live on pay-per-view and later released on VHS in 1998, with a DVD edition following in 2008. The Spiceworld Tour became a defining moment in the group’s global success and remains the highest-grossing tour by an all-female group, cementing the Spice Girls’ place in pop music history.
